He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lloyd and Opal Marie Bennett; his wife Shirley C. Bennett; his children, Leslie Batchelor, James Bennett II, Billie Bennett and Judy Lynn Bennett; and his son-in-law Daniel Thornburg.
He is survived by: his children, Dorcas Thornburg of Clover, SC, Kathryn Cope (Jeff) of Mount Holly, Kenneth Bennett (Kathleen) of Ohio, David Price and Andrew Price. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, and twelve great great grandchildren.
