It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Morris Gibson Sessoms of Cove City, North Carolina, who passed away on September 21, 2021, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Pittman Sessoms and Minnie Gibson Sessoms; his brother Eddie Carl Sessoms; his son Leslie Allen Cox; and his grandson Kennedy Wells Wainright.

He is survived by: his wife Patsy Brooks Sessoms; his children, Jeannine Sessoms Everidge (John), Timothy Sessoms (Britney), Lynn Cox Gonzalez (Edwin), Leland G. Cox, Jr. (Julie), Elaine Wainright and Hannah McLawhorn (Shep); his grandchildren, Maghan Eversmith (Caleb), Melissa Osborne (Zack), T. J. Sessoms (Erica), Courtney S. Grice (Jesse), Aubree Sessoms, Allie Sessoms, Levi Sessoms, Wade Sessoms, Emma Sessoms, Melinda Gonzalez Davis (Brandon), Carmen Gonzalez Rice (Benjamin), Edwin Joel Gonzalez (Lindsey), Lucas Gonzalez (Dani-Rae), Manual Gonzalez (Beth), Gabriel Gonzalez, Anna Grace Cox, Jesse Claire Cox, Ava Lynn Dale, Jacob McLawhorn and Alysa McLawhorn Rouse (Will); and his siblings, Frank Sessoms, Bill Sessoms (Doreen) and Lisa Sessoms (Ron).

A special thanks to all the Nurses and others for taking care of Santa on the 3rd floor covid unit.

He was 1 year younger than me and his mom and dad, Carl Pittman and Minnie, hung out with my Mom and Dad, Virginia and Rudolph Smith. My daddy and Carl Pittman were first cousins. They lived outside of Lumberton at the time so we saw them a lot and I played with Morris and Eddie Carl all the time. My brother Kenny told me Morris had passed away. When seeing his picture, my eyes filled with tears. -- I am so sorry. -- Pattie”
