It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elinor Dixon Hawkins in Cove City, North Carolina, who passed away on February 15, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Fitchie Dixon and Susan Reed Dixon; her husband Carroll; her sister Elizabeth McMillan; her grandson Stephen Hawkins; and her friend Hayden Jones.

She is survived by: her son John Carroll Hawkins of Cove City; her granddaughter Leslie Dixon (Colbey) of New Bern, NC; her goddaughter Betty Gannon (Steve) of Richmond, VA; and also, John Gannon and Alex Gannon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army in New Bern or Core Creek FWB Church in Cove City.
