He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ivan Dodd and Clemmie S. Newell Dodd; his wife Thelma Tedder Dodd; his daughters, Peggy Gulick and Barbara Smith; and his siblings, Johnny Dodd, George Dodd, David Dodd, Virginia Fredere, Melba Dodd and Princie McDuffie.
He is survived by: his daughter Patricia Cutrell of Wilmington; and his sister Helen Comeford of Smithfield. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
