With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Avon Corbett of Council, North Carolina, who passed away on August 31, 2021 at the age of 61. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Avon is survived by: close friend Wandra Walker of Council, NC; sons, Cyril Walker (Alisha) of Council, NC, Steven Walker (Sheena) of Council, NC and Jamie Walker (Latoya) of Covington; mother Delphine Corbett of Philadelphia; and siblings, Priscilla Porter (Lester) of Clayton, Mary Foustine Owens of Council, NC and Kevin Corbett (Dawn) of Philadelphia. Avon is also survived by 5 grandchildren.

All attendees are required to wear face masks and practice social distancing.

“When I heard the news that you were called home, my chest caved in and I couldn’t breathe. No matter what trials and tribulations came your way, you never gave up and the next thing I heard was that you made it through. Your love for your children was epic and I know you are proud of the men they became. Thank you for wiping my tears and quelling my fears.
