He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Beam and Dorothy London Beam; and his granddaughter Eden Tilton. He is survived by: his wife Daisy Alexander Beam; his children, Michele Tilton (Keith), Samuel Beam III (Sara), Travis Beam and Darla Pastwick (Derek); his grandchildren, Luke of Mooresville, Benjamin Tilton of Mooresville, Savannah of Mooresville and Sailor Beam of Mooresville; and his sister Nancy Tant (Brian) of Huntersville.

The family request no flowers and in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either Samaritan's Purse or the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
