It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Louis Rodney Whisnant (Cornelius, North Carolina), born in Lenoir, North Carolina, who passed away on October 22, 2019, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Earson Whisnant and Myrtle Martin Whisnant; his sister Mary Martin Whisnant Ross (Henry A., Sr.); and his nephews, Henry A. Ross, Jr. and James William Ross.
He is survived by: his wife Miriam Smith Whisnant; his daughter Jane Whisnant Workman (Richard); his sister-in-law Lilyan Smith Hunter; his nephew Charles Eugene Hunter (Betsy); his great-nephew Charles Wesley Hunter (Dawn); and also, Sidney, Lily, Sophia and Elsie Halyburton Childress.
