It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joel McConnell (Cornelius, North Carolina), who passed away on June 27, 2019, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Joel McConnell to show support.

He was predeceased by: his wife Doris; and his sons, Joey and John. He is survived by: his children, Vickie Zettl (Matt), David McConnell (Tammy), Dan McConnell (Kay) and Linda McConnell (Jonathan Priest); his grandchildren, Brad McConnell (Karen), Lauren Hollis (Micah), Katherine Muros (Chris), David McConnell Jr and Matthew McConnell; and his great grandchildren, Joseph, Luca, Ella Grace, Nicki, Emmy, Nolan and Lawson.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to The Family YMCA of Greater Augustaʼs program "A Place to Dream".

“I was so saddened to hear of Mr. Joel's passing. I had the privilege these past three summers of being his occasional caregiver. I was scheduled for 3 times this month & sorry I didnt not get to see him. He was my favorite person to visit and care for if only for a day or two. He was always pleasant and kind. I loved chatting with him about the past. Last year , as I was tidying up,. I was so excited when I saw an old baseball photo I believe of his father and just had to put it in a frame.”
