It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Curles of Cornelius, North Carolina, born in Baltimore, Maryland, who passed away on December 30, 2021, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Curles and Charlotte Curles; and his brother Steve. He is survived by: his close friend Millie; his wife Karen Helms; his mother-in-law Martha Hager; and his siblings-in-law, Eddie, Greg (Susan) and Katherine (Robert). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Lake Norman Humane Society, where he found his beloved pet Millie.

“Karen, I spoke with Laura Stanley Duffy today and she told me about Jim's passing. I am so sorry for your loss. I am also sorry I didn't know about it sooner, I would have liked to have attended his memorial service. I always loved talking and being around Jim.
