It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jacob Koury of Cornelius, North Carolina, born in Louisville, Kentucky, who passed away on August 11, 2021, at the age of 23, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his grandparents, James Bowen Townsend, Wilma Surratt Koury and Thomas Fuqua. He is survived by: his parents, Joseph Koury II and Karen Townsend Koury of Huntersville; his sister Amanda Koury of Huntersville; his grandparents, Joseph Koury of Greensboro, Jean Whitley Fuqua of Greensboro and Patricia Wylie Townsend of Julian; his aunt Karen Koury of Lewis Center; and his uncles, Greg Townsend (Tamara) of Beavercreek and Brian Kaisinger (Inés) of Julian. He is also survived by seven cousins.

For those attending in person, please note that while wearing masks remains optional, we suggest that those in attendance wear masks while moving about the LNBC campus. We highly recommend that anyone who is considered high risk wear a mask at all times given the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

“Our hearts are broken. Jacob was a light in a world of darkness. He was everything a Christian should be; kind, good, companionate, caring, loving, generous. He was honorable and extraordinary. We know where he is, dancing and singing in heaven, but that is surely not much comfort for your tremendous loss. Our family loved Jacob and have fond memories of him here in our home, at Hopewell, and with JROTC. He was a remarkable young man. We are deeply saddened. Love, The Salm Family”
