He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Ruth Rucker; and his son-in-law Chris Holcombe. He is survived by: his children, Robert D. Rucker (Debbie) of Weddington, NC, Joseph B. Rucker (Judy) of Garner, NC and Donna R. Holcombe of Huntersville, NC; his grandchildren, Kathy Grey, Joy Rucker, Dana, Jr. Rucker (Rebecca), Joseph, Jr. Rucker (Jenny), Summy Rucker, Aaron Rucker (Sarah), Michelle Holcombe, Jessica Holcombe and Brooke Holcombe; his great grandchild Lauren Rucker; and his brothers, Robert Rucker (Marilyn) and Harrison Rucker.
