He is survived by: his wife Judy Young McLellan; his children, Charles McLellan Jr. (Karen), James McLellan (Victoria), Sonia Takatch, John McLellan and Tracy Rubrecht (Craig); his brother Robert McLellan; and his nephew Judge John McLellan, III. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; one great-grandson.
