It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mae Evans Taylor of Corapeake, North Carolina, born in Gates, North Carolina, who passed away on January 16, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Evans and Gulia Copeland Evans; her husband Leroy Taylor; and her siblings, Dorothy Appleberg, Hilda Ashby, Lester, Lloyd and Talmadge Evans.
She is survived by: her daughters, Angie Taylor Pinner of Creswell, Linda Taylor Christopher (late Neal) of Suffolk, VA and Brenda Taylor Jordan (late Jerry) of Elizabeth City; her siblings, Peggy Evans Scott of Suffolk and Roger Evans of Rileyville, VA; and her grandchildren, Jeremy Jordan, Amber Pinner, Heather Asbell, Shane Jordan, Stacey Jordan, Neal Christopher and Ashley Pinner. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
