She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Goodwin White, Sr. and Dorothy Vivian Rogerson Hadnot; and her brother Charles Eugene White. She is survived by: her husband Douglas Lane Ward, Sr.; her children, Mary Vivian Ward Thiemens of Corapeake and Douglas L. Ward, Jr. (Katherine) of Roanoke, VA; her brother Lloyd G. White, Jr. (Jean) of Chuckatuck, VA; and her grandchildren, Mary Beth, Scotty, Ariane and D. L.. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
