Helen Genelle Watkins Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 8, 2020, at the age of 82, Helen Genelle Watkins of Cooleemee, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Deloast Payne and Savannah Hairston Payne; her husband John Henry Watkins; and her son John Kelvin Watkins. She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Watkins-Dillard, Avis Watkins-Smith (Rickey), Lori Rhodes (Bobby), James Watkins and Carl Watkins; her sister-in-law Ethel L Payne; and her niece Geraldine Cuthbertson (William Alex). She is also survived by family members and dear friends.
Due to Covid-19, the family will follow the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidance for wearing face covering in public settings and social distancing.
She dedicated her life to Christian leadership and strongly believed that the church is the foundation of the community.
