She was predeceased by: her father William Ervin Steele; her husband Nathan "Sonny" Archer; her daughter Penny Elizabeth Foster Calhoun; and her brothers, Maultin Steele and Quentin Steele.

She is survived by: her grandchildren, Tara Calhoun Wilkinson of Salisbury and Benjamin Calhoun of Cooleemee; her great grandchild Rebecca Wilkinson of Salisbury; her son-in-law George Calhoun (Patti) of Summerfield; and her pet Sunny. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
