He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ernest and Rachel Spillman Whitley. He is survived by: his wife Wanda Foster Whitley; his children, Brian Whitley (Cora) of Mocksville, Joshua Whitley (Tammy), Sandy McIntyre (Gerald) of Advance, Noel Barney (Carey) of Hamptonville, Daniel Barney of Hamptonville and Jesse Barney; and his grandchildren, Hannah Whitley, Carley Whitley, Isaiah Whitley, Jared Whitley, Nathan Whitley, Audrey McIntyre (Christopher Hundley), Madeline McIntyre, Aaron McIntyre, Jake Barney and Calton Barney.
