He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Thomas Barrett, Sr. and Elizabeth Vick Barrett; his son Robert Keith "R. K." Barrett; and his sisters, LaVonne Barrett and Vickie Gilliam.

He is survived by: his wife Martha Edwards Barrett; his daughter Valerie Barrett Pearce; his grandchildren, Reese Kendall Pearce and Presley Lynn Pearce; his brother Joseph R. Barrett (Ellen); and his nieces and nephews, Tim Gilliam (Kim), John Gilliam (Kristy), Rob Barrett (Katie), Dal Edwards (Marie), Guy Edwards (Windy), Emory Edwards (Hillary), Lisa Brooks (Earl), Marianna Cotton (Jeff) and Jennifer Fowler.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Conway Fire Department.
