He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Futrell Matthews; his parents, George Matthews of Washington and Eva Johnson Matthews; and his sisters, Rose Matthews Marotto and Hettie Bell Matthews Rose.
He is survived by: his children, Ellen M. Glover (Jimmie) and Phil Matthews (Mary Hall Matthews); his sister Peggy Matthews Brickert; and his grandchildren, Benjamin Ray Glover (Danya), Melissa Glover Miles (Hank), Adam Scott Glover (Megan), Jenny Matthews McKellar (Scott) and Brandon Adam Matthew (Leigh Ann). He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.
