It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Alton Brown of Conway, North Carolina, who passed away on June 17, 2020, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Elmer "Doc" Brown and Margaret Lambeth Brown; and his siblings, Kenneth W. Brown and Betty L. Brown. He is survived by: his wife Pearl Dunlow Brown; his children, John Alton Brown, Jr. (Tracy) of Newsom, VA and Joni Hale of Lasker; his stepchildren, Sarah Matthews of Whitakers, Becky Bryant Parker of Battleboro, NC and Mitch Pearson of Franklin Virginia; and his brothers, Donald F. Brown of Chesapeake, VA and Richard C. Brown of Weldon. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
A Graveside Service for Alton will be held on Monday, June 22, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Beechwood Cemetery in Boykins, Virginia and the family has requested that in lieu of flowers, remembrances of Alton be made to the Conway Baptist Church.
