It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Edwin Hester of Conway, North Carolina, who passed away on July 25, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Hester and Molly Hester; his grandsons, James Randal Hester (Randy) and Tracy Deon Hester; and his granddaughter-in-law Beverly Jacobs Hester.
He is survived by: his spouse Mercile Pait Hester; his children, Rev. James Darryll Hester of Whiteville, NC, Timothy Durham Hester (Tammy Jo) of Greenville, NC and Pamela Cecile Carroll (Curtis) of Garner; and his grandchildren, Donavon Hester (Shannon), Jennifer Lynn Nunnery, Michael Quinn, Michelle Neal (Richard), Tammy Marie Hinkley (Craig) and Christopher Anthony Carroll. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
