She was predeceased by: her mother Velma Freeman. She is survived by: her husband William Thomas Cherry; her children, Erica Cherry of Conway, NC and Brian O'Neal Cherry of Durham, NC; her grandsons, Johnathan and Brandon Joyner; and her sisters, Virginia Person of Jacksonville, NC and Kay Scott of Clayton, NC. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hunter's Funeral Home (123 Dr Martin Luther King Jr Dr N, Ahoskie, NC 27910-7612). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (230 US-158 BUS, Murfreesboro, NC 27855).
