He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hubert Bowen and Eleanor Hughes Bowen; his sister Betty Jean Moses; and his nephew Dustin Allen Bowen. He is survived by: his siblings, Randall Dale Bowen (Kathy) of Statesville, Allen Bowen (Bonjy) of Conover, Tim Bowen of Maiden, Nancy Hawkins of Hickory and Teresa Hill of Lincolnton.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Catawba County.
