She was predeceased by: her parents, JB Rogers and Mildred Hunt Rogers. She is survived by: her son Obie Shad Lail; her granddaughter Tonya Matheson (Dustin); and her sister Jerry Ann Hedrick. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Quarter Horse Association in Sylvia's name.
