He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyd Vest Setzer and Evelyn Anderson Setzer; and his siblings, Boyce Setzer, Walter Lee Setzer, Josephine "Joe" Duncan and Norma Martin.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Jennings Setzer; his sons, Michael Setzer of Savannah, GA and Chase Setzer of Conover; his brothers, Everett Setzer (Shirley) of Claremont and James Setzer (Carolyn) of Claremont; and his sister-in-law Mary Setzer of Hickory.
