He was predeceased by: his father George F. Sims; and his siblings, Jack Sims, Evadene Scronce, Audrey Carpenter and Alice Sims.
He is survived by: his wife Janette Lowman Sims; his children, Rickey Ray Sims and Carol Lee Sims; his grandchildren, Kristen Phillips (Tellas), Alex Sims (Victoria), Adam Sims (Toni) and Patrick Hallman (Brittany); his great grandchildren, Breanna Auton, Taylor Shaffer, Tre Phillips and Wyatt Sims; his great great grandchild Camille Newbauer; and his brother Ted Sims. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
