He is survived by: his parents, Gordon Townsend and Kathy T. Townsend of Taylorsville; his wife Amy Brown Townsend of Conover; his children, Elliott Gordon Brown Townsend and Margaret "Maggie" Evelyn Brown Townsend; and his siblings, Brandon James Townsend (Rebecca) of Lenoir and Kimberly Dianne Townsend Owens (Jimmy) of Lenoir.
