He was predeceased by: his parents, Hoke Jones and Aileen Garvin Jones; and his siblings, Hoke Jones Jr., Delores Ledbetter and Betty Coley.

He is survived by: his wife Brenda Barringer Jones; his children, Joseph "Joey" Jones (Julie) of Conover and Lucinda "Cindy" Bensen (Chris) of Key West, FL.; his grandchildren, Christopher Jones, Judith Jones Huguley (Trey), Lucinda Jones Higgins (Matt), Matthew Uschelbec, Adam Uschelbec and Griffin Uschelbec (Amber); his niece Cathy Breault (Tim); and his nephew Tom Ledbetter (Cindy).
