It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Johnnie Jeannette Barger of Conover, North Carolina, who passed away on November 5, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Lawrence and Pauline Elizabeth Deal Matthews; her husband Richard Blain Barger; and her brothers, Everette Mathews and Richard Matthews.
She is survived by: her sons, Ricky Barger of Charlotte and Danny Barger of Lenoir; her brother Eddie Matthews of Hiddenite; her granddaughters, Jennifer Barger of Hudson and Samantha Barger of Lenoir; and her great grandchildren, Bradley Barger, Andrew Barger, Mason Kidd and Chloe Kidd.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peace United Church of Christ at 2230 29th Ave. Dr. NE, Hickory, NC 28601 in Jeannette's name.
