She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilford Bess and Dollie Bess; her husband Lloyd Kanipe; her daughter Wanda (Larry Campbell); her grandson Derek Campbell; and her daughter Rachel Winebarger of Atlantic Beach, NC.

She is survived by: her brother James "Pud" Andrew Mosteller (Linda) of Macon; her son Andy (Julie Kanipe) of Conover, NC; her grandchildren, Cheryl Roberts (Todd) of Bahama, NC, Terri Bunn (Travis) of Charlotte, NC, Retha Godbey (Tom) of Buford, GA, Sonny Winebarger (Jessica) of Jacksonville, FL and Eric Kanipe (Brigail); her great grandchildren, Dustin Roberts (Lisa Walter), Noah Winebarger, Ashlyn Bunn, Annelisa Winebarger, Raeanne, Caroline, Briar Kanipe and Kaylee Kanipe (Connor Hice); and her nieces, Meg and Susan.
