We are sad to announce that on September 15, 2023, at the age of 87, George Pinkney Smith of Conover, North Carolina, born in Catawba, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Vance Smith Sr. and Vida Rosella Sigmon Smith; his siblings, Edgar Vance Jr., JB Smith (Edith) and Martha Oliver (Edwin); and his daughter Susan Snipes.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Smith; his sons, George "Donavon" Smith (Jenny), Chris Huffman (Cissy) and Eric Huffman; his grandchildren, Abbi Smith, Spencer Huffman, Trent Driscoll and Shana Snipes; his great grandchild Ryder Stacy; his siblings, Sarah Hull (Clyde), Carolyn Starnes (David), Mary Deese (Ron), Donald Smith (Margie) and John Smith (Kaye); and his sister-in-law Eloise Smith (Bud).
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Peters Lutheran Church at 6175 St Peters Church Rd, Conover, NC 28613.
