He was predeceased by: his parents, Finley Grant Eckard and Sadie Houston Eckard; his wife Edna Robinson Eckard; and his grandson Travis Horne. He is survived by: his daughter Kim Horne of Hickory; his granddaughter Miranda Mendel (Eric) of Hickory; and his siblings, Melvin Eckard of Conover, Janice Holland of Hickory and Earlean Fulbright of Conover.
