It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elsie Marienne (Schmid) Johnston (Conover, North Carolina), born in Cleveland, Ohio, who passed away on September 26, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Anna T. Schmid and Otto F. Schmid; and her sister Carol Schmid. She is survived by: her granddaughters, Missy Smith (Warren) and Heidi Hayden; her husband Thomas W. Johnston; her sister Hildegard Benns; her children, Thomas (TJ), Anna Marie (Missy) and Heidi; her grandchildren, Welden Johnston (Michelle), Atlee Johnston (Wesley Stratton), Brittany Smith, Cole Smith, Walker Smith and Morgan Smith; and her great grandchildren, Banks and Wells.
