He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert McRee and Charlotte Houck Eckard Lail; his wife Cecilia Bolick Lail; and his brothers, Harold Lail and Glenn Lail.
He is survived by: his sons, Tony Michael Lail (Angela) of Charlotte and Louis Duran Lail (Kathy) of Taylorsville; his grandchildren, Erin Whitehead (Jason) of Holly Springs, Megan Putnam (Robbie) of High Point, Kristen Robillard (Dan) of Apex, Calyn Ford (Ben) of Advance, Michael Lail (Connie) of Indian Trail and Matthew Lail (Colleen) of Jacksonville, NC; and his brother Earl Lail of Hickory. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
