With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Chelvia Carden McCoy of Conover, North Carolina, born in Pulaski, Virginia, who passed away on July 21, 2023 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Everett Oral Carden and Sarah Gertrude Warf Carden; her husband Dewight McCoy; and her daughter Tammy Young. She is survived by: her children, Joey Farlow of Pulaski, VA. and Lisa Houston (Jeff) of Conover; her siblings, Lewis Carden of Virginia, Bonnie McCoy of Virginia, Betty Clemons (Larry) of Virginia, Brenda Assid of Virginia, Evelena Kinsley (Buck) of Virginia and Lola Lynton (Leroy) of Virgina; and her grandchildren, Stacy Hopkins, Steven Hopkins, Blake Young and John Young.
