He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Richard Eckard and Opal Yancey Eckard; his wife Julie Eckard of Conover; and his brother Christopher Eckard of Wilkesboro, NC.. He is survived by: his children, Keisha Eckard Akers (John) of Charlotte, NC, Bruce Richard Eckard, Jr. (Jenny) of Hickory, NC and Brady Richard Eckard (Jenny) of Raleigh, NC.; his grandchildren, Owen, Olivia, Harrison, Hines Akers of Charlotte, Braxton, Brody Eckard of Hickory and Emma Eckard of Raleigh; his sister Elaine Hall (Gordon) of Taylorsville, NC; and his siblings-in-law, Denise Eckard of Raleigh, NC, Carol Griffin, Laird of Fripp Island, SC, Pat Weathers of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Charlie Brady of Boone, NC. He is also survived by 7 nieces, and 3 nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 5th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hickory Metro Convention Center (1960 13th Ave NE, Hickory, NC 28601). A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
