He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Fox and Catherine Burnette Fox; his daughter Dawn Michelle Brown; his son-in-law Kyle Victor Brown; his siblings-in-law, Mary Ann Fox, Kay Fox and Tom Temple; and his granddaughter Jami Ann Pless.

He is survived by: his wife Cynthia "Cindy" Dawn Gilliam Fox; his son William "Jeff" Jeffrey Fox (Paula) of Locust; his siblings, Joyce Catherine Temple of Morganton, Charles Eugene Fox of Seneca, SC and Jerry Wayne Fox of Morganton; his grandchildren, Alexis Fox, Kacie Scarfo (Chris) and Blake Brown; and his great grandchildren, Lilli Mae Scarfo and Chase Scarfo.
