It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wayne Scott Vincent (Mint Hill, North Carolina), who passed away on February 2, 2021, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. Wayne Scott Vincent, 59, was born in Sacramento, CA and raised in Kailua, Hawaii. He was born to Edwin Allen Vincent, Sr. and Josephine Marie Madeira. He was the fifth of six children. Wayne graduated from Kailua High School. After high school, he worked at the Queen Kapiolani Hotel as a Guest Service Agent and then at Triple Check Tax Services as an Administrative Assistant, before becoming the primary care provider for his parents. Wayne was fluent in Japanese, reading and writing, ever since he fell in love with the language and culture as a young boy. He would spend his weekends catching the bus to Ala Moana to sit and “talk story” with the Japanese-speaking tourists in order to hone this skill. Wayne was also a gifted artist, a talented musician and he enjoyed spending his free time building detailed model fighter jets and Star Trek aircraft carrier replicas. He was truly a kid at heart. He loved anime and collecting toys and comic books. Wayne was born July 10, 1961 and he was born into eternal life on February 2, 2021. He is survived by his sisters Janet Haole and Joanne (Derrick) Walton and his brothers Edwin “Skip” (Missy) Vincent, Jr. and Michael Vincent, and his 8 nieces & nephews and 6 grand-nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
