He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse James Smith and Minnie Lee Faulk; his wife Alice Smith; and his son Thomas Smith, Jr.. He is survived by: his daughters, Brenda Benton (Mike) of Concord, Linda Perkins (Darrell) of Concord and Glenda Carter of Oak Island, NC.; his grandchildren, Michael, Tracie, Kelly, Brandon, Adam, Bryan, Jared, Justin and Nathan; and his daughter-in-law Pam Smith of Fuquay-Varena. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
