It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shirley Hickok of Concord, North Carolina, born in Charlottesville, Virginia, who passed away on November 14, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Basil M. Viar and Mary Powell Viar. She is survived by: her son Mike Burkett, Jr. (Karen) of Mt. Pleasant; her grandchildren, David Burkett (Jennifer), Monica Gilliatt (Ben) and April Allen (Daryl); and her siblings, Sally Woolard, Sara Smith and Basil Viar, Jr. (Shirley). She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
