He was predeceased by: his parents, James Alfred Mullis and Omie Leona Mullis; his wife Shelia Talbert; his son Shawn Alexander; and his brother Arthur Eugene.
He is survived by: his close friend Sherry Swett; his children, Samuel Lee II of Raleigh, NC and Sarah Jo Burris of Concord, NC; his siblings, Wayne Franklin of Imperial, MO and Frances Parham of China Grove, NC; his grandchildren, Isaac Alexander of Clarksville, TN, Alexis Jin of Worchester, MA, Samuel Lee III of Greensboro, NC and Andrew Ray of Raleigh, NC.; and his great grandchild Ember Lynn of Greensboro, NC. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord (460 Branchview Dr NE, Concord, NC 28025). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the McGill Baptist Church (5300 Poplar Tent Rd, Concord, NC 28027).
