Though Richard may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Whitaker and Anne Mae Krasko Whitaker; and his wife Dorothy Slate Whitaker. He is survived by: his sons, Steven Whitaker (Rachel) of Concord and Bob Whitaker (Tannis) of Statesville; and his brothers, Bob Whitaker (Janice) of Nebraska and Gary Whitaker of Arizona. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Kannapolis Church of Christ (2315 Concord Lake Rd, Kannapolis, NC 28083). Visitation was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the same location.
