He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter T. Hill and Elizabeth Hough Hill; his former wife Bonnie Jamison Hill; and his great grandchild Jaxson DeArmon Hill. He is survived by: his wife Shirley P. Hill; his children, Stephen Hill (Lynn Hill), Susan H. Carr (Scott Carr) and Thomas Hill; his grandchildren, Michael D. Hill (Heather Hill), Camie C. James (Chad James), Alex C. Harris (Jake Harris) and Morgan Carr; his great grandchildren, Ryleigh James, Ellington Harris and Isaac Harris; and his sister Fran Harris.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to "The Heartest Yard" via Atrium Health Foundation in memory of M.D.s great grandson, Jaxson DeArmon Hill.
