She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilmont Smith and Roberta Smith; and her siblings, Chris Smith, Wilmot Smith Jr., Kathy Mulock and Angala Carney.

She is survived by: her sister Virginia; her close friends, Lorry and Allegra; her niece Kaitlyn; her husband Gary; her brothers, Scott Smith and Joe Smith; her nephew Mark Carney (Katie); her niece Amanda Venti (Joe); her parents-in-law, Sandra Spencer and Walt Putnam (Gypsy); her sister-in-law Virgina Washington (David); her nieces and nephews, Codey, Corrina and Kristen; her friends, Don and Michelle Tarantino; and also, Steven, Nicolas and Kaitlyn.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the ASPCA and the Humane Society of Charlotte.
