He is survived by: his parents, Joel Shanus and Susan Shanus; his wife Shannon Carter Shanus; his siblings, Michael Shanus (Christine) and Melanie Sammis (Matthew); his sister-in-law Tammy Burke (Mark); his nephews, Owen, Cooper Sammis, David Shanus and Tate Davis; and his niece Rylie Burke.
