He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parent Virdia Marshall Salyer; his wife Lois McConnell Marshall; his daughter Cathy West; his granddaughter Sheyenne Marshall; his brothers, Wayne, Bobby and Thurmond Salyer; his children, Susan Jackson (Charlie) of Columbia, SC, Dreana Jackson (John) of Lexington, SC, Nancy Poplin (Mark) of Locust, NC and Kenny Marshall (Leta) of Concord, NC; his grandchildren, Traci Burden (Jerry), Ben Allen (Victoria), Tommy Howell (Salinda), Holly Rupert (Ben), Garrett West (Chesney) and Montana Poe (Garrett); his great grandchildren, Madison, Sarah Burden, Emma, Ansley Rupert, Gabby, Ashley-Kae Howell, Vivian, Beckham Allen and Raegan Poe; and his siblings, Shirley Collins, Betty Stallard, MaryRuth Jordan, Irene Owens, Jean Horne, JoAnn Newsome, Billy Salyer, Charlie, Jimmy and Billy Johnson. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
