He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Boyce Caldwell and Fleta Rimmer Caldwell; his former wife Vivian Earnhardt Caldwell of Albemarle; his sons, Kenneth Clontz Caldwell Jr. and Gregory Dean Caldwell; and his siblings, Winfred Mayberry and Hugh H. Caldwell.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Lippard Caldwell; his stepson Jason Cagle (Holly); and his stepgrandson Griffin Cagle. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
