She was predeceased by: her parents, Hoyle Whitaker and Elizabeth Canupp Whitaker. She is survived by: her husband Kenneth "Ken" Thompson; her daughters, Beth Neal, Kim Suther and Jennifer Luke (Marcus); and her sister Becky Merritt.
