He was predeceased by: his father John C. Teeter, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Morris Teeter; his son J. Matthews "Matt" Teeter (Charlotte) of Sterling, VA; his grandson Andrew Teeter; and his stepdaughters, Elizabeth Inman of Clayton, NC and Emily Trammell of Charlotte, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church, 525 Lake Concord Rd.NE, Concord, NC 28025.
