He is survived by: his wife Sherry Bonds; his children, Jessie and James Bonds III; his grandson James Bonds IV; his sister Anna Bonds Locklear (Craig); his stepbrothers, Doug Allen and Nick Allen; his nephew Philip Locklear; his niece Melissa Locklear Myers; his great-nephew Atticus; and his great-niece Riley.
